I Have No Idea What I'm Doing
I have no idea what I'm doing.
Its an experiment. It's a notebook
Just putting the process out there. See what comes
A creative process in real time.

Is it pretentious? Certainly.
Could it wind up being abandoned like so many other blogs I've started before?
Quite possibly.
Does that make it a waste of time? Unlikely.
Will I learn something valuable along the way? Invariably.
And that's the whole point.
The creative act is rarely done for strategic reasons.
This is all about zigging while the whole world zags.
It's a rejection of algorithms in favour of curation.
It's a rejection of conforming to patterns to get traffic, in favour of self expression.
It's a rejection of the so-called collective wisdom which says you need to put yourself out there and grin like an idiot while you get churned up on social media, in favour of a return to the old web of anonymous weirdos. (The good kind of anonymous weirdos.)
It's a rejection of autogenerated fakery, in favour of hard-slog and authenticity.
A machine could never make something like this, it's too random
8.31 billion - that's how many people are on this planet right now, according to the great god Google. 8,312,823,625 if you want to be exact.
99.9% of 8,312,823,625 billion is a lot of people to try and be friends with, and I've met enough to know that's a fool's errand.
0.01% of 8,312,823,625 is what... I need a machine to help me here bear with me.
Nah, that's still WAY too much, too many numbers with too many commas...
0.0001% is 8,312, still too many.
0.0000001% of the world's population, that around 8.3 people, maybe on a good day I can bump that up to 9, that's a realistic target audience but let's be super optimistic and we'll say ten.
Ten people, out of 8.31 billion, yeah that's about right, that's about the number of people I connect with in the real world, my true friends, so it's a realistic target audience for a new website.
I mean, not if I want to monetize it obviously, but fuck all that shit.
I'm happy with an audience of ten people.
Or just one person.
If I can make just one person smile, just once. Then it's worth it.
